Butchery Manager - UK

About the role
As a Butchery Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the meat processing facility/butcher shop. You will be responsible for managing a team of butchers and ensuring that the products meet quality standards and are shipped and delivered on time to customers.
You will also be responsible for inventory management, sales forecasting, and creating an environment that ensures the safety of the staff and customers. The role may require working early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Responsibilities will include:
• Manage butchers and support staff to ensure products are prepared according to customer demand and quality standards.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for butchery operations, including processing, packaging, and shipping.
• Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to ensure that production needs are met while minimizing waste.
• Create and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a steady supply of high-quality raw materials at competitive prices.
• Develop and implement sales strategies to increase revenue and market share.
• Train and mentor staff to ensure that they are competent and efficient in their job roles.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and health regulations.
The successful candidate will have:
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a managerial role in food production
• Experience in Halal food practices
• Fluent in English, Urdu and Arabic
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with safety and health regulations
• Preferable knowledge of meat processing techniques and butchery practices.
• Familiarity with working in a fast-paced environment, often standing for extended periods of time
• Experience in handling raw meat products, wearing protective clothing and adhering to strict hygiene practices.
• Experience working in cold environments and lifting heavy objects.
